Good Faith

According to Justice Iacobucci of the Supreme Court of Canada, the concept of good faith does not have a precise legal definition. However, here are some words and phrases that shed light on the concept:

  1. candid
  2. reasonable
  3. honest
  4. truthful
  5. sensitive
  6. lack of malice

What is corporate culture?

For me it’s a phrase that encompasses the personality of an organization. If you had the ability to spend time observing the goings on in an organization’s corporate office, you could use the following template to articulate its culture:TO_shiver

  1. how is the office decorated?
  2. what are the employees wearing; the dress code?
  3. what titles do employees have?
  4. how does the organization articulate its mission?
  5. how are decisions made and communicated?
  6. what amount of time are you expect to spent with coworkers outside of office hours?

You’ll notice that the template does not depend much on the company’s website or other written material. I’m a firm beliver that you are what you do not necessarily what you say. After all a business is a human institution, not a five-year plan, or building.
